From the Usurp the Shadow Throne release notes
- Bloodfrenzy Gloomblade has a play-static ability that allows its owner to play it from their banished zone.
- Usurp is a mandatory additional cost that must be paid if there is a Runechant that can be usurped.
- Bloodfrenzy Gloomblade is always checking if you have dealt damage to the defending hero. If you have dealt damage to them (including from this card), Bloodfrenzy Gloomblade gets go again. If you deal damage in the resolution step or later, Bloodfrenzy Gloomblade will still get go again, but it will not grant you an action point.
Keyword notes
Usurp - As an additional cost to play this, destroy a Runechant if able. If you do, this gets +2{p}.
- Usurp is a static ability keyword.
- Usurp adds an additional cost to cards. You must destroy a card named Runechant, or a card that counts as a Runechant if able. If you destroy a Runechant in this way, the card gets +2
. Any Runechant that is public and in the arena can be destroyed as part of paying this cost, regardless of controller. - A Runechant token that is destroyed to pay a usurp cost will not trigger when the card is played: it no longer exists by the time its “when you play an attack action card” trigger would occur.
- A Runechant that is destroyed to pay a usurp cost is considered to have been usurped when that card is played and put on the stack. This can trigger effects that look for when a card “usurps this”.
- If there are no Runechants, you can still play the card with the usurp additional cost but you won’t get any additional effects as the usurp cost was not paid.
Blood Debt - Blood Debt is a new keyword existing on Shadow cards. Shadow cards can inflict a loss of life to access a greater power. At the end of your turn, you lose 1{h} for each blood debt card in your banished zone.
- You only lose life at the end phase. Players do not have priority during the end phase.
- If you have multiple cards with blood debt, you lose 1
for each instance of blood debt at the end of turn. - Only face-up cards banished with blood debt counts and will lose you
. Face-down banished cards have no effects or stats.
Go again - Go again allows multiple actions to be played in a turn when usually playing an action with use up your action point, and therefore end your turn. A card with go again gives the controller of that card or activated ability 1 action point when it resolves.
- When an action with go again resolves, its controller gains 1 action point.
- Multiple instances of go again on the same card or activated ability do not stack. If a card or activated ability has multiple instances of go again when it resolves its controller gains 1 action point only.
- If an action with go again does not resolve, its controller does not gain 1 action point.
- You cannot reveal a card with no
to Belittle. The card must have a value to its power that is 3 or less. (0 is a value)
