Rulings

From the Usurp the Shadow Throne release notes
  • This card has a ‘when this defends’ trigger, which will trigger whenever it is added to the combat chain as defending. An opponent’s effect that adds this to the combat chain as defending will still trigger this card’s ability.
  • If you do not have any cards left in your deck, the instruction to reveal will fail.
  • If the revealed card has 6 or more base power, it will stay it is put back on top, and is affected by ‘put’ replacement effects (e.g. Topsy Turvy).
  • If the revealed card does not have 6 or more base power, or does not have the power property, it must be put on the bottom of your deck. If you have no other cards left in your deck, you will put it back in the deck zone as the only card.
  • The revealed card must have a base power of 6 or more to meet the condition. Effects that give bonuses to power for cards you own, but do not affect the base power (e.g. Kayo, Armed and Dangerous) will not affect how this condition is evaluated.
  • If the revealed card has a power value of , the current value of is evaluated at the time of resolution of this ability. For example, if you reveal Blasmophet’s Boon and you currently control a Blasmophet, the Insatiable Hunger, a base power of 6 is used.

Keyword notes

Temper - Temper is a new keyword that exists on equipment in Crucible of War. Usually high in defense, Temper equipment presents a choice when it is down to 1{d}, of whether to defend with it one last time and see it destroyed, or save it to use for its ability.
  • If the equipment gains a -1defense in a different way other than defending, it would not be destroyed even if it has 0defense.
